While I believe they’re going to bring Culber back to life somehow, I am still very uncomfortable about how, within episodes of FINALLY introducing gay characters on screen, Star Trek halved that representation in a brutal act of violence. Sure, it wasn’t done for homophobic reasons, but it’s still leaning into a lot of violent tropes directed at gay people. Honestly, I think if I hadn’t been a Star Trek fan my whole life, I’d seriously consider dropping Discovery for this.
